Riding for the Disabled Barlavento took 4 excited NECI students to Porto for the finals of the Special Olympics on 23rd November in Porto.

Aquabike European Endurance Championship 2017The Yacht Club of Portimao hosted the final act of the UIM-ABP Aquabike European Continental season, the Endurance Championship over the weekend 27/29 October.

Aquabike, often referred to as jet-ski was sanctioned in 1995 by the Monaco-based Union Internationale Motonautique (U.I.M.) the world governing body for all power boat racing. Jet-ski’s are ridden in the stand up position, whereas Aquabikes are similar to a motorcycle, rode whilst sitting.

Disabled riders await confirmation of a place in the Special Olympics Final

Special Olympics PortugalThe regional qualifier for the Special Olympics for the disabled took place on Wednesday 4 October in Bensafrim. Riding For The Disabled Barlavento had six riders from NECI (in Praia da Luz) taking part.
They rode their socks off to win 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal - a fantastic result!

Chapman (Carus Green Golf Club) carded a solid 68-round to move to eight-under par for the tournament, and one step closer to his first victory on the EuroPro Tour this year.

The Portimao Autodrome hosted the Touring Cars, the LeMans Cup and the Le Mans European Series with championship titles up for grabs across all classes for both drivers and teams.

The Iberian Touring Car Championships could have sparked into life, with four races scheduled and two drivers battling for the championship title. Championship leader Francisco Mora's Seat Leon and Francisco Abreu's VW Golf GTI lined up on the start for a promising head to head title showdown.

Top Level Endurance Racing In The AlgarveThis weekend the European Le Mans Series returns to the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve following an absence of seven years. The three day event culminates with the season grand finale on Sunday when 96 drivers representing 21 nations will begin the title deciding clincher. 

The 4 Hours of Portimão is the last event in the six event series, an endurance race around the 4.684km circuit, will see 35 cars lined up on the starting grid. Both the team and drivers titles across all three classes remain undecided so with the six titles up for grabs the race promises to be full of action and drama.

3rd Golf Corporate Day for Casas do BarlaventoFor the third consecutive year, Casas do Barlavento organized a golfing day on September 22nd to thank the owners, buyers and business partners of Casas do Barlavento for a successful year at the Boavista Golf Resort & Spa.
Of the 80 invited players, a total of 20 teams, each composed of 4 players, resulted in a Stableford with a 9am shotgun start. The game ran smoothly, players enjoyed a sunny day, sandwiches and fresh towels and drinks at stations along the course.
