Poland salutes the EU

drinkIn stark contrast to the UK, the prime minister of Poland encouraged his countrymen to “raise a glass” to celebrate the country’s tenth anniversary of entry into the European Union.

Donald Tusk said membership has been a success, noting that the last decade has been one of great economic progress for the nation.

He pointed to a recent opinion poll which indicated that 80% of people there were satisfied with their experience of the EU.

With help from the EU, the Polish economy has become one of Europe’s strongest.

"I think Poles can raise a glass to their own performance in joining the EU and putting 10 years to good use," Mr Tusk said at a press conference to mark the opening of a new motorway linking Warsaw with the city of Gdansk, which was partly financed by EU funds.

Bravo the Poles. They understand the purpose of the EU.

No problem for them getting work in the UK; owning their own businesses or settling there with taxable employment ... buying from their own businesses; eating at their own restaurants; shopping for Polish goods or foodstuffs etc etc

So why is that ???

In essence they do not suffer the prejudices of Pink Maps - or Gibraltars. (google if puzzled)

Any Brits also trying likewise here in Iberia - or have you already gone home ???

"A new motorway linking Warsaw with the city of Gdansk, which was partly funded by EU funds". Is it called the P22 and tolled by any chance?
