A 15-year-old girl, missing in the Algarve since March, has been found alive and well.
The Judicial Police confirmed on Tuesday that the teenager has been located.
Sofia Gil "is in good physical condition, having been supported by friends from her old school during her absence," read the police statement.
The young woman had been missing since March 22 and has been on a national missing persons list ever since.
Sofia Gil was living in the Algarve after a period at a youth institution for at risk children, in Lisbon.
Sofia’s mother, Rosa Laranjeira, later found evidence that her youngest daughter had been in contact with strangers.
"Sofia talked to men and even sent a photograph of herself," said Rosa Laranjeira, who found a record of a conversation.
Comments
Presumably no detective work needed with this teenager as she had gone back to her old mates. Unlike Madeleine who was so young, in a strange country for just a week or so and with no friends nearby to go back to.
So, to show us all some progress since Madeleine went missing 12 years ago where exactly can we see this PJ missing persons list? A facial, height, weight, skin colour etc and the specific case officers contact details?
