The Faldo Course at Amendoeira Golf Resort has won the prestigious World Golf Award as Portugal’s Best Golf Course in a sensational night for Portuguese golf and travel.
Designed by 6-time Major Champion, Sir Nick Faldo, and complimented by world-class resort amenities, the Faldo Course at Amendoeira has been recognised on the world stage at the recent World Golf Awards.
In the glittering ceremony, the Faldo Course was recognised as Portugal’s Best Golf Course, in an evening which also saw Portugal secure its position as the ‘World’s Best Golf Destination’.
The Algarve has long been recognised as one of Europe’s most enjoyable golf destinations, and boasts some of the world’s best-known courses. Having opened in 2008, The Faldo Course at Amendoeira Golf Resort has become a favourite among the Algarve’s international golf tourists and was recognised as the jewel in the Algarve crown at the 3rd Annual World Golf Awards, hosted on Saturday 12th November.

There was also cause for celebration for course designer of the Faldo course, as Sir Nick collected the award for ‘Golf Course Designer of the Year’. Alongside the award for the Faldo Course at Amendoeira Golf Resort, Portugal was also recognised as Europe’s leading golf destination before going on to receive the ‘World’ award.
