Earthquake felt across the western Algarve

Lisbon earthquake, devastatingAn earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale was recorded at 3pm today with an epicentre located about 190 kilometers south-southwest of Cape St. Vincent.

The tremor was reported by concerned citizens in Portimão, Quarteira and Loulé.

The earthquake was recorded on the seabed off Morocco at a point to the west of the Straits of Gibraltar and south-southwest of Cape St. Vicente at a depth of 19 kilometers deep.

According to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere, the earthquake did not cause injury or damage despite its force being intensity III on the Mercalli scale, as recorded in various places along the Algarve coast, particularly in Lagos, Albufeira and Faro.

This is the second sizeable earthquake in 4 days as last Saturday the 19th of October an earthquake registering 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded in the western Algarve.

And once the oil drilling is here, we can expect more earthquakes happening ... just hope it will not result in a repeat of 1755 earthquake.

The Portuguese gov, Repsol and Partex are playing with fire (aka nature) and nature has often kicked back against its human destruction based on only profits for a few shareholders.
