Burns Supper : 27 January

Burns Supper : 27 JanuaryThe Saint Andrew’s Society of the Algarve will be holding its Burns Supper at the Restaurante Ponte Romana in Silves on Saturday 27 January 2018. Starting at 7 pm guests will be greeted at the entrance by the lusty playing of our piper Malcolm MacGillivray. We will start off with a bubbly reception before sitting down to enjoy dinner with MacSween’s haggis (after the Beast has been formally addressed and slain), tatties and neeps as the main course. For non-believers vegetarian haggis or grilled chicken will be available, but must be ordered in advance. The meal will be accompanied by wine and perhaps even some amber mead!

Nobel International Schools host their annual Christmas nativity showsThe Nobel International School Lagoa and Lagos primary sections performed their annual festive performances in the last week of term. 

Lagoa Years 1-6 performed "Christmas Wishes", written by Pennie Best, a play about toys that children wish for and the nativity at the end.
Lagos Pre-School-Year 6 did "A Midwife Crisis", a play written by Gaynor Boddy and Rebecca Kincaid.

Nobel International School Algarve visits CERN in Geneva

CERN student visitA group of 16 senior students and two teachers from Nobel International School Algarve visited CERN in Switzerland in November as part of the CERN Educational Program 2017.

CERN is the world´s largest and most complex scientific laboratory and values its interaction with students. This Educational Program welcomes students each year to learn more about CERN, the origins of the Universe, the basic constituents of matter and the fundamental laws of nature.

São Brás festival features 'Blues' themed art competition in Museu do Traje - July 7th

paintbrushesAn exhibition of paintings on canvas with the theme the Blues has been organised by the Friends of the Museum of São Brás in partnership with the International Association of Art and the Peace and Art Society, which have developed the Blues project for painting on canvas.

Participating artists, of various nationalities, are creating works of art that represent a comprehensive overview of Blues music and its influence on the world in which we live.
