Where To Eat In Lagos & Luz?

We have put together a list of our favourite restaurants to eat out in the Lagos and Luz areas of the Algarve. There is something for everyone, for all tastes and occasions, and to suit all budgets. We've even included a restaurant map so you can find them quickly and easily!

O Camilo
Situated on the cliffs above Camilo beach, just north of Ponta da Piedade, this restaurant is very popular with locals and tourists. It’s only a 15 minute walk from the town centre and 2 minutes by car.
Camilo Restaurant LagosThe restaurant has a modern look and feel, with seating indoors and on the large outdoor terrace. O Camilo serves modern Portuguese cuisine, and is known for its fresh regional fish and seafood dishes, but there are plenty of delicious meat options available on the extensive menu too. Pricing is moderate for the quality of food and O Camilo Restaurant Lagosservice. O Camilo is open from midday until late evening.

Campimar Beach Restaurant
Friendly service, fresh food and ocean views. What more could you ask? Located directly on the beach at Porto do Mos, Campimar Beach Restaurant is modern and modest, offering a casual style dining experience with seating inside and out. Only a 50m stroll from the sea Campimar is a great place for a coffee and traditional Pastel de Nata, an Algarvian seafood lunch or dinner, or a homemade pizza, salad or sandwich. Why not try a cocktail or two at sundown?
Prices are very reasonable considering the fabulous location. Open all day serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, and everything in between.Antonio Restaurante

Antonio Restaurante
This casual bar/grill style seafood restaurant gets extremely busy, as you’d expect being located on the beach at Porto do Mos, Antonio Restaurant, Porto do Mos LagosLagos. The menu is of a traditional Portuguese style with fresh seafood topping the menu. Staff are attentive and friendly and the sea views are amazing. Antonio Restaurante is open all day for drinks, snacks, lunch and dinner. Prices are reasonable, taking into consideration the beachside location.

Restaurante Dom Henrique
Restaurante Dom Henrique is located in the heart of vibrant Lagos, just a short stroll from the riverfront. Don’t let first impressions fool you, from the outside it looks quaint but with its Haute Cuisine style Portuguese food this a real treat for food lovers, that won’t break the bank.
Restaurante Dom Henrique LagosThere is seating inside and out, plus a roof top bar for enjoying a house cocktail.
Prices are not the cheapest but reasonable for the quality of food and service. Restaurant Dom Henrique is open from 10am every day.

O Artista Restaurant and Bar
Conveniently situated a short stroll from the Museu dos Descobrimentos in Lagos, O Artista is a pub/bar style restaurant offering a wide range of beers, live sports TV, live entertainment and fabulous food. The menu is varied, with something for everyone and the atmosphere is fun and lively, suitable for families and groups. Prices are the lower end of the scale, and they are open all day.

Ol’ Bastards
The best Fish and Chips in Lagos partnered with cocktails and craft beer make this a popular restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Situated in the central Lagos just a short stroll from the riverfront Ol’ Bastards offers a great priced meal for the family in a great location. The menu is simple but not limited to battered fish, it includes tacos, chilli chips and spring Luigi Pizzasrolls. The restaurant opens in the evenings, from 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM, and seating is indoors only.

Pizza da Luigi
A hidden gem located just a few minutes walk from the Jardim da Consituçao on the riverside, Luigi’s Pizza is a takeaway rustling up the BEST freshly made traditional Italian pizzas, cooked in a wood burning oven, and at unbeatable prices. Open all evening until the early hours this is perfect for those needing sustenance after a night out, or if you’re just wanting a takeaway and cosy night in.
Excellent value for money.

Casa dp Prego Restaurant, LagosCasa do Prego
A MUST to visit! This modern alternative to the array of traditional restaurants in Lagos is situated in the heart of the historic town centre, just a short stroll from the Igreja de Santo Maria (church). There is a welcoming buzz to the atmosphere, food is freshly prepared from an Casa do Prego Lagosextensive menu and great value for money. The steaks are delicious, as are the tapas. Casa do Prego is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday, but dinner only on a Sunday.

Restaurant O Alcaide
Located at Rua Porta da Vila, near the Fire Department/Bombeiros in Lagos, O Alcaide is a traditional style Portuguese restaurant with flair. Their delicious meals are all freshly cooked and accompanied by good wine. Service is always attentive and efficient. It can be a little pricier than some other restaurants but this is reflected in the quality of the food. They are open evenings only.

Quay Lagos
A waterfront bar located in the beautiful Marina at Lagos, decorated in a chic maritime style. There is seating inside and out, offering the perfect place to sit and watch the world (and yachts!) go by. The menu is extensive and Mediterranean in style, serving homemade breakfasts, snacks, salads and of course main meals. The homemade desserts are naughty, but nice!
Pricing is reasonable in general, but slightly expensive for main courses in our opinion.
Quay Lagos is open all day.

Restaurante A Forja
Known locally as Blue Door this buzzing restaurant is situated across the river from Lagos Marina, tucked away in a side street. The atmosphere is like that of an Italian trattoria, serving hearty, top-quality traditional food at great prices. Casa do Pintor Restaurant, LagosDishes of the day are always reliable, and the fresh fish and seafood is the best in town. Service is reasonable, and the prices are low. At lunch time A Forja is one of the most popular restaurants in Lagos, so there’s usually a waiting time of 20-30 minutes - or come early!

Casa do Pintor Lagos
A French bistro style restaurant just outside the great wall of Lagos, serving generous portions of the most beautiful, deliciously prepared food. There are a few tables outside but the majority of dining is cosy and intimate inside. Prices are not the cheapest my any means but we highly recommend a visit to Casa do Pintor, you won’t be disappointed! They are open from 7pm to 10pm every day.

Casinha do Petisco
Blink and you'll miss this tiny traditional gem in the heart of Lagos. From the outside it looks nothing, but inside it is cosy and comes highly recommended for its authentic dishes of grilled fresh seafood and Goji Lounge Caféshellfish. Goji Lounge CaféThe portions are quite big, great for sharing if your appetite is not huge. Reservations are recommended because it does get busy. Open for lunch and dinner.

Goji Lounge Café
Nestled in the heart of Lagos town, in a cute courtyard within the city walls, the Goji Lounge Café has a great atmosphere and food that's refreshingly different. Enjoy healthy smoothies, fresh cocktails, traditional Portuguese tapas or salads while you relax to the chilled tunes. Open from 10.30am until 8.00pm this is a brilliantly priced option for coffee & cake, light snacks or full blown healthy lunch. Vegan options are always available.
