The Great Master Lives On. Fine artist João Gomes exhibits “Homage to Leonardo da Vinci” at João Gomes Realarte Galeria Café, in Faro. The exhibition opens on Saturday 9 February at 16:00hand runs to Friday 22 February, 2019, inclusive.
João Gomes was born in Castro Verde in 1963, Portugal. In his early childhood, he already felt a calling for the fine arts and has been dedicating his entire life to this passion which now lasts over thirty years.
The artist´s overflowing creativity expresses itself in painting, as well as in sculpture, assemblage, and writing, among others.
Although he deploys various styles, the best he identifies himself with is realism and impressionism, creating principally landscapes and portraits.
Regarding the materials used, one could say the artist is quite versatile, employing a wide range. In particular: oil, wax, acrylic, charcoal, gouache, pencil, pens and anything which adds colour.
His works have found their way to many countries, in private collections, such as Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Brazil, Morocco.
