The first and most striking feature of this house, apart from the extremely spacious grounds, is its elliptical shape. This was however, the object of detailed parameters and study during its design and conception.
It has modern, sensual and timeless lines, so as not to be outmoded by linear, eventually monotonous shapes. The goal was to create a practical and comfortable house, avoiding long distances to be covered between its points of main usage, but still spacious in real terms and perception, enabling large dinners or receptions to be performed, while still providing privacy and cosiness where desired.
Despite its round shape, the house avoids round walls on the inside, allowing for conventional furniture, layout and wall decoration to be used. Its large atrium provides numerous windows for natural lighting on both floors (even the huge garage has large windows to the garden). Further to these parameters, particular attention was given to the security for the home and people. Although Portugal is a peaceful, inviting and hospitable country, the future owners of this house may still prefer the ultimate in security and privacy.
