British Embassy launches new weekly visa service in Lisbon

The British Embassy would like to inform that UK Border Agency, in partnership with WorldBridge, will be launching a new weekly visa service in Lisbon from 26 August 2011.

The Mobile Biometric Clinic will enable customers in Portugal to supply their biometric information, required to apply for a UK visa, without having to travel to another UK Border Agency office outside Portugal.  This service will be subject to a fee of €152.52 in addition to the visa fee.

Customers who do not wish to use the Mobile Biometric Clinic in Lisbon will still be able to apply directly at another UK Visa Application Centre outside Portugal.

Applicants will be able to lodge their applications on-line through the visa4uk website (www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk) as they did before, but once they pay their visa fee, they will be given the opportunity to make an appointment at the WorldBridge Biometric Clinic at Hotel Sana Lisboa, Av. Fontes Pereira de Melo 8, 1069-310 Lisbon. The Clinic will be open every Friday from 10.00 to 14.00. Attendance will be by appointment only and will be subject to a service fee of €152.52 in addition to the visa fee.

Customers will be supplied with a pre-addressed envelope to post their application to the UK Border Agency for consideration. Passports and supporting documents will be returned by courier to applicants directly once a decision on whether to grant a visa has been made.
