ISECA launches “Safe Communities Algarve”

At the British Consulate Outreach Event attended by the British Ambassador, Jill Gallard held recently in Albufeira, David Thomas director of ISECA the Independent Security Agency, announced the launch of “Safe Communities Algarve”, an on line platform to promote crime prevention in the Algarve.
David said "At present there is no consolidated source of information on crime prevention combining both the work of the police and the private security industry in the Algarve. Safe Communities Algarve would therefore help promote the work of the police, by providing crime prevention information, development of the Safe Residents Program and various contact numbers etc. It will also act as platform for specialist crime prevention services available in the private sector. The objective was therefore to provide a “one stop shop” of information and support services available to all residents".
David Thomas added that the formation of the platform followed discussions with both the police and the private security industry on ways to further promote crime prevention in the region and is well supported.
The British Ambassador has welcomed the launch of Safe Communities Algarve, saying "I'm delighted to learn of ISECA's launch of an on line platform promoting crime prevention in the Algarve. The Safe Communities Algarve initiative should help British residents to ensure that their property and personal possessions are well protected, and keep them up to date with local developments".
David Thomas explained that the services provided by Safe Communities Algarve would be available free of charge to residents, with news updates available to those who wish to register. The platform will be further developed over the coming weeks.
