Website Mistakes Millionaires Don’t MakeMillionaires get it right more often than they get it wrong and, if we want to succeed with business marketing, it is worth learning from what they do .. and what they don’t do.

Take online marketign for example. These are the mistakes that millioniares don’t make online.

1. They don’t use lots of unnecessary graphics; especially those that take ages to load.  Certainly you want an attractive website but not at the expense of slow load times.  Large images take ages to load and people get bored waiting for them.  Remember you have 5- 8 seconds to get people’s attention and a large graphic or picture can rtake that long or longer to load.  Result, your visitor disappears before they have seen your page.  Millionaires don’t make this mistake.

2. Putting a visible Visitor Counter on your website.  These are rarer than they used to be .. but I saw one on an Algarve based website today.  Sadly they made the site look amateurish and I didn’t do business with the company.  That may look fickle … but many customers are and a “counter” wil drive people away.

Serious sites like Virgin wouldn’t be seen with counters like this .. perhaps that is a reason why Richard Branson didn’t fail the millionaire challenge.

3. Music, or other audio, that starts as soon as you open the site.  There is a place for sound on websites but it isn’t where it automatically plays without warning.  I often see this on sites that prospective brides are visiting; those selling wedding dresses, photography etc.  The website owners seem to think it puts people in the “wedding mood”.  In reality ity probably loses them a lot of business.
